Stmpdr Daily – July 13

Welcome to Thursday! (can you see the light yet?) And what we love about today is knowing it’s almost the weekend and yet, still, we have four solid days of Stampeding still to go. Lot of great things going on.
Best of the East Stampede Breakfast:
One of Stampede’s best kept secrets, previous years have included international twists like Jamaican parties, Iraqi coffee. Unity Park, 3111 17 Ave NE, 8:30-11am
Get your Ag on:
The competitions heats up at the Working Cow Horse Classic (11am-3pm) and the horseshoe blacksmith competition. How about a mini-horse show (6:30pm) while eating mini donuts? All in the Ag zone on park.
Lunch at The Deane House 12pm:
It’s going to be sunny, so why not kill two birds with one stone? Have a patio lunch with live music at Deane House, then walk over to the nearby Enmax Park entrance to Stampede. 806 9th Ave SE

Deconstructed Western Movies 5-7pm:
For something completely different and high brow, check out the opening reception for WILD: Fabricating A Frontier. American Night packs all the cliches of the old Western genre into a film that’s really about completing modern society. Illingworth Kerr Gallery, 1407 14th Avenue NW
We <3 fried food at TELUS Spark 6pm:
Adults Only Night at Telus Spark is devoted to the siren call of fried foods. DJ, drinks, fried food, no kids…it’s the ideal Stampede experience, but off park.
Alesia Cara on the Coca Cola Stage for $5:
One of the biggest acts anywhere right now, and Canadian to boot. Enter Stampede Park between 5-7pm for specially discounted $5 admission.

We're letting you know what's going on during the Calgary Stampede and sharing some pretty cool stuff at the same time.
