The day I spent sampling food on the Calgary Stampede Midway

Meet Darren. He’s a volunteer Calgary Stampede Midway food sampler. Yep. You heard that right. He’s volunteered to put as much midway food in his gut as he can in one day, judge it on taste, presentation and whether he’d recommend it or not, then do it again the next day, for five days. I’m telling you, this is the DREAM volunteer job at the Stampede. If you’ve got the stomach for it.

Me, I had the chance to hang out with Darren (and will likely do it again a couple more times before the 10 days is over), to sample some of the garb being offered at the grounds. And let me tell ya, it was hot and it was tasty. Here area few pics of our eating adventure.
