Extreme couponers, this one’s for you. The Stampede has released details about a number of discounted entry days to help keep a little jingle in your pocket. And if you missed your chance to buy a Stampede Superpass this year (what a deal!), this could be right up your alley. Get in, have a good time, get out, and don’t get sideswiped by the price of it all. Here’s when to hit up the grounds this year if your middle name is ‘thrifty’:
Thursday, July 6
We say ‘sneak’, you say ‘peek’…and someone else will need to say ‘a’ somewhere in between there. If you’re young at heart and you love some good night life, this is the value day for you. IgNITE packages can be purchased for just $32 an include park admission and a Ride All Night wristband (and of course free access to Nashville North if you’re looking to do a little dancin’).
Friday, July 7
In case you haven’t already heard, this year’s Stampede Parade will be happening in reverse. No, that doesn’t mean the horses will be walking backwards, but the route will be happening in the opposite direction to help make it easier to get to the grounds once you’ve finished watching every show band in Canada march by. Even better, admission is F-R-E-E until 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 9
Who says oil is dead? Cenovus is still sponsoring Family Day at Stampede and admission is complimentary from 8 a.m. – noon. So grab your family, dress them up like cowboys, and get your boots and butts down to the grounds for a good old time (and a free breakfast for the first 25,000 guests).
Tuesday, July 11
Keep the Canada 150 celebrations going with this offer that’s right up there with McDonald’s dollar drink days. Mosey on over to the grounds before 1:50 p.m. and pay only $1.50 for admission. Thanks for turning 150 Canada!
Bonus: If you’re 65 and older (or can pass for 65+), you can get in for FREE all day, with free coffee and donuts from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., a free WestJet Skyride and standing room tickets for the Rodeo and Evening Show. Pays to be grey.
Wednesday, July 12
If you didn’t make if down for Family Day, or if you’re brave enough to face round two with the kids, BMO Kids’ Day will offer free entry for kids under 12 (accompanied by a parent of course) from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. If being an early bird isn’t really your thing, fear not, kids 12 and under can still get in for the price of a single toonie for the rest of the day. And guess what? There’s another freebie breakfast over in the Grandstand Courtyard from 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. to boot!
So kick up some dust, keep your money safely in the bank…or under your mattress…or buried in the backyard…or wherever else you stash your gold bullion, and most importantly enjoy Stampede!
